2021 Beckmeyer Reserve Chardonel

Chardonel is a French-American hybrid of Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc. Though it can be seen in an array of styles, our Chardonel takes the classic "Burgundian" approach with neutral French Oak and a small degree of battonage to give roundness and complexity to the finished wine. Pear, yellow apple, and lemon zest give way to a mineral smokiness and dollop of cream over crusty bread. Pair with salmon in a beurre blanc sauce.

The "Orion Beckmeyer Reserve" is a cuvee intended for a place at the table, either in your go-to restaurant or alongside your favorite dish. The wine spends an extended elevage in new French Oak to build structure and complexity while marying the fruit and mineral notes from the grape and vineyard.
